Johnson Valley, CA – Racing an unlimited Trophy Truck sounds easy and a lot of fun, but it requires a lot of hard work and seat time.
Having stepped up our game with the acquisition of a Geiser Gen 5 TT we decided to book a training class with Ricky Johnson, who’s coached not only innumerable offroad racers but also stunt drivers and military special forces.
After making himself acquainted with our truck and it’s setup, the training began and he guided us through the pylon course he’d set up, which allowed us to understand what this 1000+bhp beast can do and how agile it can be with the slightest steering and break/gas pedal input.
We will definitely have to do this again in the future!
Next up is another family race weekend with the Great American Shortcourse Series, this time in Chandler, AZ
